My Goal

I am making every step count this February

This February, I am taking part in BrainWalk and walking, jogging or running as far as I can to improve my own health and wellbeing and help save lives!

I am raising money for the Encephalitis Society, a cause close to my heart.
Encephalitis is a neurological condition that can be devastating. Here are five facts you may not know:

1. Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain.

2. It is caused by an infection or through the immune system attacking the brain.

3. Anyone can be affected by encephalitis – no matter their age, gender or ethnicity.

4. It has a high death rate and survivors are often left with an acquired brain injury and life-changing consequences.

5. It is more common in many countries than motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, bacterial meningitis and cerebral palsy.

One person is diagnosed with encephalitis every minute across the world, and life for them and their loved ones will never be the same again.

Every donation I receive will go to the Encephalitis Society, helping accelerate understanding and awareness of encephalitis and ensuring that those affected by this serious neurological condition get the crucial help and support they need. Please help if you can.

My Updates

Almost there..

Thursday 17th Feb
It’s been more than 2 weeks I set off on achieving my goal walking for BrainWalk. I’ve now surpassed 25k steps and nearing my £1500 donation target with my faithful walker.
I feel revived and motivated to do more and more. I’m physically stronger day by day and mentally happier with the results. My walking pace has become faster and stable.
Every time I walk the sun seems to come up to cheer me up. On the support front I’m happy that many of my friend and family have donated for the needful cause. Keep supporting!
No rain, no wind can stop me from walking. Zoe the Unstoppable!

My 1st Day walking..

Tuesday 1st Feb
I was sent an email by a friend about BrainWalk, after reading it, I got excited.
I signed up and took it as a challenge to myself. This way I will keep myself motivated, healthy and have a chance to raise money for the charity.
So far my 1st day was fruitful, I stepped out in the sun on my new walker with assistance from my carer.
On completing my walk around the square where I live, I was elated to see the tracker showing 1.4k steps in 20 minutes. I’m hoping to further raise my step count and work towards the target. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who have supported me.

Thank you to my Sponsors
